Agave Cantina & Grill
The management team at Gold Country Casino wanted to increase the customer draw for the property and create better energy for their Northern California property. To achieve these objectives, Agave was designed as a signature venue concept that would offer customers a complete entertainment destination while providing the casino with another memorable amenity. The Agave footprint features a signature bar, a unique restaurant concept which includes a self-serve beer wall, and a stand-alone gaming area that combine to produce a high-energy destination draw for the location.

Project Approach
Design & Planning
Beginning with a high-energy color palette, the interior of Agave creates a unique and dynamic ambiance. This provides the perfect backdrop for customers to pour their own beer from a 24-tap, custom self-serve beer wall, watch a live sporting event on the 22’ HD screen, grab a drink or play a slot machine at the signature bar, or simply sit down and enjoy a great meal with friends. The open half-wall design of the perimeter creates a visual boundary while still inviting customers in and creating excitement for guests approaching the venue.
Build & Install
In addition to creating a unique venue, the customer wanted to have the project open for guests to watch the Super Bowl. In order to achieve this timeframe goal, all of the custom décor elements and bar casework were completed offsite, allowing the components to be installed in the shortest time possible onsite. In addition to the physical components of the overall project, custom content was provided for the venue, enabling the marketing team to begin on-property and online marketing ahead of the venue’s launch. The entire Agave project, including a demo of the old buffet, was completed in just 14 weeks onsite.
Finished Project
The renovated venue has created a destination unlike any other in the Northern California gaming market. As the project closed out, high-quality, as-built drawings and digital project documentation were provided to ensure that the facility team has all of the information needed for ongoing successful operations. This project transformed an underperforming buffet venue into a signature draw for the Gold Country location which adds energy to the property and has generated additional customer visits.
