Located within The Mint Gambling Hall, an all-new steakhouse experience was created to serve customers with a fine dining option. The signature “bourbon barrel” entrance into the new restaurant provides a dramatic entry experience and an excellent “Instagram” opportunity for guests.
Beautiful wood finishes, architectural metals, and rich leather furnishings combine to create a classic steakhouse feel for the entrance and interior of the venue.
Location: Franklin, Kentucky
Duration: 7 Weeks
Project Size: 2,800 sf
Services: Comprehensive Design Build
The new “Irons Steakhouse” provides Kentucky Downs with a signature higher-end dining amenity to stand out as the premier restaurant of choice for the region. The memorable “Tunnel” entrance offers guests a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience, offering both a photo opportunity to patrons and a sound buffer for the steakhouse creating a quieter space within the property.
The interior furnishings package was planned to offer a well-balanced space that is comfortable and unpretentious while maintaining an elevated level of quality that can be enjoyed. The space includes a dedicated bar to both service the restaurant and offers a less formal offering to guests, as well as a private dining room in the rear for small parties.
As part of the comprehensive, design-build renovation for Kentucky Downs, full architectural plans and engineering came together quickly. The project was phased to minimize downtime for the facility while creating a dramatic transformation for the customer areas and also adding a 36,000 SF expansion.
The barrel entry feature for the Irons Steakhouse was built offsite at the I-5 Design Build facility. This allowed fine details including brick work and integrated lighting to be adjusted to create the perfect level of ambiance. This also minimized the renovation time onsite, creating greater value for the client and far fewer disruptions for guests.
