Meskwaki Casino Buffet
Due to the importance of the buffet venue to casino operations, Meskwaki could not close buffet operations during the remodel project. I-5 brought creative solutions for the project that included setting up a temporary buffet location and expediting the entire project to achieve a complete transformation of their 10,000 square foot buffet in under 2 weeks.

Our Approach
Design & Planning
The “Meskwaki Buffet” design established an elevated overall theme for the venue, with high-impact custom décor features throughout the customer areas and an individual theme for each station along the buffet serving line.
As the importance of timeframe was communicated, the design team focused on solutions that could be constructed offsite and then installed as components in the space. All-new furniture, upgraded restaurant equipment, and specialty décor work together to create an all-new, high-quality experience within the buffet.
A programmable lighting system is integrated into the ceiling beams and salad/dessert area valances allowing for the overall mood and atmosphere within the venue to be controlled as desired to assist with promotions, holidays, and special events.
Build & Install
All of the specialty decor and custom elements were constructed offsite at I-5 Design Build's production facility. This offsite construction of the decorative components ensured the streamlined installation and minimal timeframes onsite.
As projects are completed offsite, I-5 provides customers with weekly updates which can include client update videos, like the one shown above.
During the remodel project, the buffet service was so critical to Meskwaki’s guests that the casino could not afford to be without it for any period of time. A plan was created which would completely transform the buffet space in two weeks onsite while maintaining a temporary buffet service in a nearby event hall. This included floor to ceiling finishes, custom architectural décor with integrated, programmable, LED lighting, and an all new buffet line and equipment. As a result of the excellent planning and excution of the project, the entire upgrade was completed in just 12 days onsite.
Finished Project
The entire 10,000 sf of buffet space was completely transformed in under two weeks on site.
This included all floor-to-ceiling finishes, custom architectural décor with integrated, programmable, LED lighting, and an entirely new buffet line and equipment. Revenues were protected as the entire upgrade was completed in just 12 days on-site, weeks ahead of the already aggressive schedule.
