With the legalization of sports wagering in New York, Akwesasne Casino Resort wanted to put itself ahead of the game. They identified an underperforming food court area and strategically transformed it into a destination game day experience. The project was completed in 9 weeks and has transformed a dead zone within the casino into an additional revenue stream and high-quality draw.

Smart Design 

Using the existing structure and physical footprint of the existing food court, a new sportsbook that included a bar for customers. They needed to move quickly on the project as they wanted to offer customers the ability to wager on sports the day the State of New York authorized sports betting. I-5 worked with the existing architectural features of the facility to create a design that was planned from the beginning for the majority of the project to be constructed offsite and create the most efficient onsite construction phase.  

Successful Opening 

The project was completed in just 9 weeks, positioning the property as one of the first to offer sports wagering in the state. This has led to increases in customer traffic and excitement at the property which has produced excellent results for the casino and tribe.
